radiograph

Image from radiation exposure

A radiograph is an image produced by X-rays or other radiation passing through an object onto a sensitive surface, most commonly used in medical diagnosis to visualize bones and internal structures.

The term is essentially synonymous with X-ray when referring to the resulting image rather than the radiation itself.

As a verb, to radiograph means to produce such an image: The dentist radiographed my molars to check for decay.
