colonoscopy
Colon camera procedure
A colonoscopy is a medical procedure in which a flexible camera is inserted through the rectum to examine the colon for polyps, cancer, or other abnormalities.
The patient undergoes bowel preparation beforehand—typically a liquid diet and strong laxatives.
Colonoscopies are standard screening for adults over fifty: My doctor scheduled me for a colonoscopy.
