recorder
Wooden wind instrument
A recorder is a device that captures and stores audio or video for later playback: tape recorder, voice recorder, flight recorder.
The word also names a simple woodwind instrument with finger holes, often used to teach children music.
In legal contexts, a recorder is an official who keeps records, or the office itself: county recorder.
