radiogram
Ship-to-shore communication
A radiogram is a message transmitted by radio, especially in the era before widespread telephone and internet communication.
The word also refers to a piece of furniture combining a radio receiver with a record player—a common living room fixture in mid-twentieth-century homes: Grandmother's radiogram still works.
In medicine, radiogram is an older term for an X-ray image.
