perlite
Expanded volcanic glass
Perlite is a volcanic glass that expands dramatically when heated, forming lightweight white granules full of tiny air pockets.
The expanded form is widely used in gardening to improve soil drainage and aeration, and in construction as lightweight insulation.
Add some perlite to the potting mix so the roots don't get waterlogged.
