perceptions
How things seem
Perceptions are the ways we take in and interpret information through our senses or mind.
The word often emphasizes that what we perceive may differ from objective reality: Public perception of the candidate shifted after the debate.
A perception can also be an insight or observation: Her perception about the team dynamics proved accurate.
The gap between perception and reality is a common theme in philosophy, psychology, and politics.
