insensitivity
Lack of awareness
Insensitivity is a lack of awareness or concern for others' feelings.
Someone showing insensitivity fails to recognize when their words or actions cause hurt: His insensitivity to her grief was stunning.
The word can also describe physical unresponsiveness—insensitivity to pain, insensitivity to light.
In interpersonal contexts, insensitivity often implies thoughtlessness rather than deliberate cruelty.
