noticing
Taking something in
Noticing is the act of becoming aware of something—perceiving it, registering it, paying attention to it.
The word often implies a shift from unawareness to awareness: I couldn't help noticing the tension in the room.
In mindfulness contexts, noticing has become a practice in itself—deliberately observing thoughts, sensations, or surroundings without judgment.
