sufficient reason
Enough to explain
Sufficient reason is a philosophical principle holding that everything must have a reason or cause for being as it is rather than otherwise.
Leibniz formulated it as a fundamental axiom: nothing happens without a reason why it should be so and not otherwise.
In everyday use, a sufficient reason is simply adequate justification for something: She had sufficient reason to be suspicious.
