patriotism
Love of homeland
Patriotism is a feeling of pride in, love of, or devotion to your country.
The underlying word, patriot, is distantly related to father and implies achievements over generations.
Patriotism is usually viewed positively and celebrated (The country exhibited its patriotism at the Olympics), but extreme patriotism that becomes militaristic or xenophobic is not.
