historic sites
Places with past
Historic sites are places preserved for their significance to the past—battlefields, monuments, ancient ruins, former residences of notable figures.
They may be protected by governments or organizations: The battlefield is now a national historic site.
The term often implies official designation and public access, distinguishing preserved locations from merely old ones.
