Indifference is a lack of interest, concern, or feeling toward something.
Where caring would be expected, indifference shows none: She greeted the news with complete indifference.
It can suggest emotional coldness or detachment: His indifference to her suffering was chilling.
Indifference differs from active dislike—it's closer to not caring at all.
