paradise

Place of perfection

Paradise refers literally to a place believed in some religions to exist or to have existed: that is, the Garden of Eden, heaven, or a sweet spot that the righteous experience before heaven.

In this use, Paradise is most likely to be capitalized.

Paradise also designates figuratively any earthly place full of enjoyment and delight, and often has a modifier before it (surfers’ paradise, tropical paradise, lovers’ paradise).
