noodle

Long flexible pasta

Noodle has two main clusters of meaning.

The first is a strip or tube of pasta, typically made from wheat flour and eggs, boiled and served in soups or with sauce: chicken noodle soup, rice noodles.

The second is informal for head or brain: Use your noodle.

To noodle is to improvise casually, especially on a musical instrument: He noodled on the guitar for a while.

To noodle over something is to think about it in an unhurried way.
