centipede
Many-legged arthropod
Centipedes are elongated arthropods with many body segments, each bearing a pair of legs.
Despite the name suggesting a hundred legs, most species have between 30 and 354, always an odd number of pairs.
They are predatory creatures found worldwide, typically in moist environments like soil, leaf litter, and under rocks.
Centipedes can deliver venomous bites to subdue prey, though most species pose little threat to humans.
I found a centipede when I moved the flowerpot.
