Tortellini are small ring-shaped pasta filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables, folded and pinched to form a distinctive navel-like shape.
They originate from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy and are typically served in broth or with cream sauce: We ordered the tortellini in brodo.
Smaller than tortelloni, which use the same folding technique but come with different fillings.
