midbody
Middle body region
The midbody is the middle section of something, especially the trunk or torso of an animal as distinct from its head and limbs.
In cell biology, the midbody is a transient structure that forms during cell division, connecting two daughter cells just before they fully separate: The midbody persists briefly at the end of cytokinesis.
