anaphase
Chromatids pull apart
Anaphase is the stage of cell division when chromosomes separate and move to opposite ends of the cell.
It follows metaphase, when chromosomes line up at the center, and precedes telophase, when the cell begins to split.
The students watched anaphase unfold under the microscope.
