intercellular
Among cellular neighbors
Intercellular means between or among cells.
The term appears in biology and medicine to describe spaces, substances, or processes occurring in the gaps between cells rather than within them: intercellular fluid, intercellular communication.
Contrast with intracellular, which means inside a cell.
