nacelle
Streamlined engine enclosure
A nacelle is a streamlined housing or enclosure on an aircraft or other vehicle.
On airplanes, nacelles typically contain engines, mounted on wings or fuselage: The left nacelle showed signs of damage.
The term also applies to the enclosed car of an airship or the housing atop a wind turbine that contains the generator and gearbox.
