leg extension
Seated knee straightening
A leg extension is a weight training exercise that isolates the quadriceps.
Performed on a machine, you sit with a padded bar resting on your shins and straighten your legs against resistance: I finished my workout with three sets of leg extensions.
The term also describes the straightening motion itself in anatomy or physical therapy contexts.
