Romanian deadlift

Stiff-legged hip hinge

A Romanian deadlift is a weightlifting exercise that targets the hamstrings and lower back.

Unlike a conventional deadlift, which starts from the floor, the Romanian deadlift begins from a standing position—you lower the barbell while keeping your legs relatively straight, then return to standing.

The movement emphasizes the eccentric (lowering) phase: I do Romanian deadlifts twice a week for posterior chain development.
