hill
Small land elevation
A hill is a natural elevation of land, smaller than a mountain.
Hills are common in idioms: to be over the hill is to be past one's prime; an uphill battle is difficult; to die on a hill is to defend a position stubbornly.
The verb means to form into a heap: hill up the soil around the plants.
Capitol Hill, often shortened to the Hill, refers to the U.S.
Congress. (Capitalized Hill is a surname.)
