climb
Go toward sky
Climb is to move upward, typically using effort—up a ladder, a mountain, a tree.
The word implies progression against gravity: We climbed three flights of stairs.
Prices climb, temperatures climb, careers climb.
A climb is the act itself or the route taken: a steep climb to the summit.
To climb down is to descend, or figuratively, to back away from a position: The senator climbed down from her earlier statements.
