gulley

Water-carved ditch

A gulley is a narrow channel or ravine carved by water erosion, typically on a hillside or slope.

The spelling is a variant of gully, with gully being more common.

Both refer to the same feature—a small valley worn into earth by repeated water flow: Rain carved gulleys into the bare hillside.
