hermaphrodite
Two sexes combined
A hermaphrodite is an organism with both male and female reproductive organs.
The term applies accurately to many plants, invertebrates, and some fish.
Applied to humans, hermaphrodite is now considered offensive and medically outdated—intersex is the preferred term for people born with sex characteristics that don't fit typical male or female categories.
Figuratively, hermaphrodite describes anything combining two distinct natures: a hermaphrodite vessel has features of different ship types.
