gonad
Gamete-producing organ
A gonad is a reproductive organ that produces sex cells—the ovary in females, the testis in males.
The term appears primarily in biological and medical contexts: The gonads develop during fetal growth.
In casual speech, gonads sometimes substitutes for testicles or serves as a mild euphemism for balls: He got kicked right in the gonads.
