hermaphrodites

Both sexes combined

Hermaphrodites are organisms possessing both male and female reproductive organs.

The term applies accurately to many plants, invertebrates, and some fish.

Applied to humans, it's an outdated medical term for people born with ambiguous or mixed sex characteristics—now called intersex conditions.

The mythological origin is Hermaphroditus, child of Hermes and Aphrodite, who merged with a nymph into one body.
