terminology
Specialized word set
Terminology is the set of specialized terms used in a particular field, discipline, or subject area: medical terminology, legal terminology, the terminology of linguistics.
The word can also refer to the study of such terms and their proper use.
When someone objects to your terminology, they're questioning your word choice rather than your underlying point.
