monosexual
One gender only
Monosexual describes sexual orientation directed toward only one gender—either exclusively heterosexual or exclusively homosexual.
The term emerged in LGBTQ+ discourse to distinguish people attracted to a single gender from those attracted to multiple genders (bisexual, pansexual).
It's primarily used in academic and community discussions about sexuality: Monosexual privilege refers to advantages enjoyed by straight and gay people that bisexuals don't share.
