dicing

Cutting into cubes

Dicing is cutting food into small cubes, typically between a quarter-inch and three-quarters of an inch: Dicing the onions took longer than expected.

The term extends to any similar cutting into cube-shaped pieces.

Separately, dicing means gambling with dice or taking risks: He was dicing with death on that motorcycle.
