cypher

Meaningless person; code

Cypher is an alternate spelling of cipher, used interchangeably in most senses.

It refers to a secret code or method of encryption, a person of no importance a mere cypher, or the numeral zero.

In hip-hop culture, a cypher is a circle of rappers taking turns freestyling, each building on what came before: We formed a cypher in the parking lot after the show.
