geo-fence
Digital location perimeter
A geo-fence is a virtual boundary around a real-world geographic area, used to trigger actions when a device enters or leaves the zone.
Smartphones might send alerts, track movements, or restrict features based on location: The app geo-fences the office so employees clock in automatically.
Common in fleet management, parenting apps, and location-based marketing.
