Leaving no trail
Untracked describes something not monitored, recorded, or followed.
In version control and software, untracked files aren't being watched by the system: Git shows untracked files in red.
In wilderness contexts, untracked terrain has no paths or footprints: miles of untracked snow.
The word can also mean not pursued or traced: The package went untracked.
