g-forces

Centrifuge training measurement

G-forces are the forces of acceleration or gravity acting on a body, measured in units equivalent to Earth's gravitational pull.

One g equals normal gravity; fighter pilots and astronauts experience several g's during rapid acceleration or tight turns.

At high g-forces, blood pools away from the brain, causing tunnel vision or blackouts: The roller coaster pulls 4 g's on that loop.
