gravitational force

Mass attracts mass

Gravitational force is the attractive pull that objects with mass exert on one another, one of the four fundamental forces of nature.

It keeps planets in orbit around stars, holds galaxies together, and gives objects weight on Earth.

The force increases with mass and decreases with distance—you feel Earth's pull strongly because of its enormous mass and proximity, while the moon's weaker gravity creates ocean tides.

The gravitational force between the two bodies was calculated using Newton's equation.
