pullout

Military exit strategy

A pullout is an act of withdrawing or retreating—troops execute a pullout from occupied territory, investors make a pullout from declining markets.

It also names removable inserts in publications: The magazine included a pullout map of the region.

As an adjective, pullout describes things designed to extend or unfold: a pullout couch, a pullout drawer.

In driving, to pull out is to leave a parking space or merge into traffic.
