loop the loop
Vertical circular maneuver
Loop the loop is an aerial or acrobatic maneuver in which an aircraft, roller coaster, or performer traces a complete vertical circle, ending upright at the same altitude where they began.
The phrase doubles as both noun and verb: The stunt pilot looped the loop three times in succession.
By extension, it can describe any dizzying circular motion or, informally, a state of confusion or disorientation.
