End of bed
A footpiece is the part of something that goes at or supports the foot end.
On a bed, it's the board or frame at the foot, opposite the headboard.
On a stocking or sock, it's the portion covering the foot.
The term appears in various contexts where equipment or furniture has a distinct foot-end component: the ornate footpiece of an antique bedstead.
