electric potential
Work per coulomb
Electric potential is the amount of work needed to move a unit of electric charge from a reference point to a specific point in an electric field.
It's measured in volts and represents the potential energy per unit charge at a location.
Two points at different electric potentials create a voltage difference, which is what drives current through a circuit.
The electric potential at the surface of the charged sphere was measured at 500 volts.
