galvanometer
Needle shows amperage
A galvanometer is an instrument for detecting and measuring small electric currents.
The needle deflects in response to current flowing through a coil in a magnetic field—the greater the current, the greater the deflection.
Once common in laboratories and classrooms, galvanometers have largely been replaced by digital meters, though the principle remains foundational to electrical measurement.
