conoid

Nearly a cone

A conoid is a cone-shaped object or structure.

In geometry, it refers specifically to a surface generated by a straight line moving along a fixed curve while passing through a fixed point, or to certain cone-like three-dimensional shapes.

The term appears in anatomy for cone-shaped body parts: the conoid ligament, the conoid tubercle of the clavicle.

As an adjective, conoid means resembling a cone.
