Hanging point indicator
A plumb-bob is a weight, typically pointed and made of metal, suspended from a string to establish a vertical line.
Gravity pulls it straight down, making it useful for checking whether walls, posts, or other structures are perfectly upright: He used a plumb-bob to align the fence posts.
The tool dates back thousands of years but remains in use alongside modern levels.
