memo

Brief written reminder

A memo is a written message, typically brief and internal to an organization.

Short for memorandum, it conveys information, instructions, or policy: The boss sent a memo about the new dress code.

Memos are more formal than emails but less formal than official letters.

The plural is memos; memoranda sounds stuffy.
