offer

Put something forward

When you offer something, you make it available to someone else.

If it is something intangible, offer sometimes means you give it without being asked: She’s always offering advice.

When you offer to do something, you say that you will do some beneficial thing for someone else.

When an institution offers something, that thing is available there: The hotel offers special weekend packages.

An offer is the act or result of offering: We had to decline his offer to put us up overnight.

An offer can also be associated with an amount of money for buying something: We made a low offer on the house and it was accepted.
