trot

Between walk, canter

Trot describes a gait faster than a walk but slower than a run—specifically the two-beat diagonal movement of a horse or the bouncing jog of a person: The horse broke into a trot.

To trot out something is to bring it forward for display, often something familiar or overused: He trotted out the same old excuses.

The trots is slang for diarrhea.
