chemist
Studies molecular reactions
A chemist is a scientist who studies chemistry—the composition, structure, and reactions of matter.
In British usage, chemist also means a pharmacist or the shop where prescriptions are filled: I picked up my medication at the chemist.
American English reserves the word for the scientific profession.
