druggist

Medication dispensing professional

A druggist is a person who prepares and sells medicines—a pharmacist.

The term is somewhat old-fashioned in American English, where pharmacist now dominates, but remains in use: The druggist filled my prescription.

A druggist may also refer to someone who owns or operates a drugstore.
