black
Absence of light
Black is called a color but it is really the absence of color and light.
Many things that are black or near black in color are also called black.
Native Africans, African Americans, South Asians, and Australian Aborigines are often called Black because of their dark skin color.
Black also carries many connotations of gloom, pessimism, evil, and misfortune, because of its status as the opposite of white and light.
