white
Snow's pale shade
White is first and foremost a color adjective for the lightest color, or some would say lack of color and presence of light, like that of snow or clouds.
From this core meaning arise many other senses that denote or characterize things that are literally or figuratively white, especially in contrast to things that have a more vivid color.
White coffee has milk or cream added to it.
People whose skin lacks the significant pigmentation seen in people from tropical regions are usually called white.
In general, white can characterize many things that are less obviously colored than other things of the same type: white wine, white sand, white bread.
In comparison to something truly white in color, they may not be white at all.
